The Tour of Honor has been selected by the American Motorcyclist Association to participate in AMA's Grand Tour Series, a collection of four themed events in 2012. This is from their website:
"AMA Grand Tours allow riders to participate at their own pace and on their own schedules and generally are open for several months to a year. Typically, riders are asked to visit a designated number of checkpoints (sometimes set in advance, other times discretionary) and document their visits.
"Grand Tours are a great way to get to know more about your state and country, and an excellent excuse to go riding. For 2012, AMA Grand Tours includes a special adventure overseen by the entire AMA staff.
"Get ready for the road adventure of a lifetime. Riders may select one, two, three or all five different adventures created by AMA staff and AMA partner clubs. Those who complete all four 2012 AMA Grand Tours [ed. visiting at least 15 ToH states and/or 30 ToH memorial sites] will receive a '2012 Master Grand Tourer' certificate from AMA Road Riding."
