I live in one of those small, post WWII developments one finds near any major Army base. The community is largely made of retirees, their families, and active duty members who want to have an easy commute. One day, our community newsletter contained an invitation to support a Warrior Ride by the sister of one of the SEALS lost in Afghanistan in August. So begins my relationship with Chris Campbell who will be riding with me on the 2012 Tour of Honor.
Chief Petty Officer (SEAL) Christopher George Campbell who was a husband, father, son, and brother. "Chris" made the ultimate sacrifice for his brothers in arms on a rescue mission in the Wardak province of Afghanistan on August 6, 2011. He was a highly-decorated combat veteran with numerous awards.
A handwritten note included with Chris' will stated that should he die in combat, rather than to focus on him, his wish was that 100,000 people donate to the Wounded Warrior Project. Please be a part of helping Chris achieve his goal in honor of his personal sacrifice for our country.
Keep an eye out for our flags as we make the tour, and when you have the time, pass the word to support our Warriors and their famlies.
