Proud to ride

Postby bahtah » 22 Jan 2011 02:04

My wife and I have signed up for the TOH ride. My name is Grant Rollins "bahtah" and my wife's name is Marleen "obo". We live in Graeagle,CA. I am a Viet Nam veteran and served with NMCB3 in 1966. I cannot forget how we were treated on our return home so I think it important that the support the public shows for our military needs to be continually reinforced. As a veteran, I would like to thank all those who are involved with putting this ride together. We will also be including a stop at the new Seabee Museum located in Port Hueneme,CA, scheduled to open sometime this fall. We will be riding three-up and hope to see some of you on the road. :D

It's really great to have you along for the ride. Steve's and my dad was in the Seabees during WWII. Just a hint for 2012! I work at the Boise Rescue Mission and we have a Veterans Ministries Program and deal with a lot of the Vietnam era vets. It is still taking some of them this long to get through the way they were treated. Sacrificing your only life for a country that showed very little respect for that, will impact a person for the rest of their life, for better or worse. Thanks for your service. Thanks for having the courage to do what others feared.

It's early in the morning and I read "three-up". First thought was a baby until I looked real close and saw the red doggles. I'm not sure if that is against the "rules". Our attorney, the neighbor's Welsh Corgi, will have to give us a ruling!!!!!! :D Have a great time, I talked to my brother and we are waiving the entry fee for your dachsund, as long as you provide his/her name!!!!

Talked with the Beagle team, and somewhere between "Woof" and "Ahoooooo", you're good to go!

We appreciate your waving the fee for WINNIE the Super Wiener! She is really looking forward to the TOH ride. You should visit the Seabee Museum, it will have a large number of WWII exhibits. Since your dad was a Seabee you may find my blogg of interest:http://nmcb3-chulai.blogspot.com/ Thank your dad for his service, the vets of WWII are truly the "greatest generation". :!:

We decided we would like a mascot. And instead of making a huge ordeal with submissions, elections, voting, and jealousies; we figured that since Winnie is the first third up we have, SHE wins! Of course that is only if bahtah and obo can agree with us!

Woo-hoo, it's official then!

I'm sure Winnie is a well-mannered and respectful dog, but there are some guidelines Dave has been working on for mascots...stay tuned!

That flag is 8" x 5". Winnie isn't much bigger.
