Alex, I see that the busy Brooks brothers haven't answered your question yet about night time shots. They are very lenient as long as it is obviously meets all the criteria of being recognizable and date code, etc.. When I did Carson City I took like 4 shots because I couldn't get all of it in one shot using my flash.

Just to be clear- unless you are going for a trophy (most states are already closed for trophies), the pics don't need time and date stamps- correct?

As far as the trophies go, the date stamp is secondary to when the photos get to Steve. But, the rules do say that all photos need to be stamped. I would personally encourage you to do what you can to comply but send your photos in no matter what and most of all, enjoy the ride! I had a great visit with Steve today and was again pleased to hear that number one is that we get out there and see the memorials and remember our heroes. The competition comes after that. As a matter of fact, my Nevada loop took me 32 1/2 hours on the road. At that pace, I didn't take nearly the time I maybe should have to really appreciate the memorials at the time.

Just to clarify:
1) You don't need time/date stamps except on the *last* site you visit, and only if you're vying for a trophy. Time/date stamps are only used as a tiebreaker for packages that are received on the same day. If you're camera doesn't generate a time/date stamp, there are freeware programs out there that can superimpose one, or if the time and date are in the image property details.
2) Only 2 states are closed for trophies, California and Texas. But that might change after this weekend.

So, Ellen, at the Flying Cross Memorial, it looks like you rode (or maybe pushed) your bike from the parking lot down the sidewalk past the aircraft on the left to get to the spot in your photo. Did anybody give you flak over that? (pun intended)

On a trip to Death Valley, I was able to visit two of the memorials - Bakersfield and Big Pine. A full ride report is ongoing but here at the pics at the memorials.
