This memorial is in honor of all Owens Valley veterans, living or dead, in all branches of service. A majestic 80-foot tall Stars & Stripes waves proudly, flanked by California and POW-MIA flags. The wall pictured above is capped with flat stones etched with the mountain range that it overlooks, listing 12 peaks from 10,000 to over 14,000 feet. Sierra Nevada glaciers are visible year-round.

Bonus stops: This is at the entrance to both the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest and the Eastern Sierra Scenic Byway, with great motorcycle roads all around.
