“All Gave Some, Some Gave All” – words that flank a glass paneled monument to the nation’s oldest branch of the military. On the grounds of the New Hampshire Veterans Memorial Cemetery, the Army Monument pays tribute to soldiers of the Army, Army Reserve and Army National Guard.

The glass wall stands behind a bronze Battle Cross sculpture – combat boots signifying the final march of a soldier’s last battle, the helmet paying tribute to a fallen soldier and the upended rifle form the battlefield burial cross common in wars across generations. On the wall, pictures of generations of New Hampshire soldiers in their uniforms are etched into the glass to stand watch over the fallen soldier.

Also in the area: Laconia is a short ride over winding mountain roads and on June 9-17 hosts the 89th Laconia Motorcycle Week and Rally. A week long party with guided rides, food, music, bike builds, the Loudon Super Bike races and a hundred other events and things to do; Bike Week has become an annual destination for motorcyclists from all over New England ever since they began “America’s Original Riding Rally.”
