This beautiful monument is a six-foot high hexagon; each face is six-feet wide at the bottom and narrows to a three-foot width at the top. A United States flag flies atop the monument.

The five branches of the U.S. Armed Forces are fully represented. Below each branch's logo appears information on its active participation in the Persian Gulf War, and the names of those men and women who were killed in action during that war. A sixth face contains the names of U.S. Army deceased.

This memorial was designed and donated by Mark S. Hemstreet, owner of Shilo Inns (a flagship property is next door), in tribute to all past and present veterans, as well as to the brave men and women serving today in the U.S. Armed Forces defending our Freedom!

Nearby: The memorial is on the grounds of the Chinook Winds Casino, a full service Las Vegas-style casino. It is also located on the stunning Oregon Coast, known for beautiful beaches and breathtaking panoramas, as well as a tremendous number of outdoor activities.
