This memorial honors the veterans of Monroe County who gave their lives preserving freedom for all of us. It is dedicated by the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. 

Also in the area: If you haven't ridden it yet, you aren't far from the world famous Tail of the Dragon, aka Deal's Gap. Its 318 curves in 11 miles draw riders and cagers from around the nation to test their mettle. The Tree of Shame at the Deals Gap Motorcycle Resort reminds us that the Dragon can bite if we're not careful.
