A marvelous work in progress awaits you at the Huntsville Veteran’s Memorial. From the service flags, the historical time lines, the bronze figures, and more, the townspeople and area businesses contributed to establish a memorial worthy of a great patriotic town of Huntsville and Madison County. This memorial park is dedicated to all who served and honors their courage, sacrifice, and duty.

Be sure to check out the bronze statues done by a local sculptor with local veterans sitting for the artist. At the west entrance to the park, “Courage” depicts three American doughboys leaving a trench during World War I. Adjacent to the fountain area is “Sacrifice” with two soldiers dragging a fallen comrade to safety during Operation Desert Storm. In between the two statues stands an American flag, completing the theme of courage, sacrifice and duty. The flag is 30 feet by 60 feet and weighs 130 pounds and its flagpole - at 140 feet with 12 feet in the ground - is one of the tallest in the South.

The memorial is also home to more than 5,000 brick pavers purchased to honor veterans and their supporters and 8 black granite markers bearing the names of 365 Madison County residents who died in combat or are missing in action. A Medal of Honor marker bearing 4 names is also part of the display.

The park is accessible 24 hours a day all year.
