On October 11, 1999 the Kentucky Firefighters Association, Kentucky Professional Firefighters Association and the Kentucky Fire Commission saw the dedication of a dream for that was the day of the dedication of the Kentucky Fallen Firefighters Memorial here. The walls contain the names of those Kentucky Firefighters killed in the line of duty.

This memorial holds a special place in Kentucky sponsor Don Cizik's heart because of his line of work: Kentucky Firefighter.

Also in the area: A short drive from this memorial is the Buffalo Trace Bourbon Distillery. This motorcycle friendly establishment (designated motorcycle parking in the front of the parking lot) offers free tours and samples of their Bourbon.
