Located at the Henderson county courthouse is this memorial inscribed “In memory of those who served, especially to those who gave all.” In addition to this Vietnam memorial there are seven other memorials located around the courthouse recognizing the Revolutionary War Soldiers, Civil War, Spanish-American War, World War I, World War II, Korean War, and the Gulf War.

Also in the area: Don’t miss the painted bears along Main Street in downtown. Each year, artists create new bears that are placed in early May and auctioned in October.

The Western North Carolina Air Museum is located at the Hendersonville Airport and features 15 antique planes. Admission is free (open April-October).
