Completed in 2008, the David Dewett Veteran’s Memorial Wayside was built to honor our military personnel who have given the ultimate sacrifice, and as a living memorial to all who don the uniform of the U.S. Military Service.

David Dewett was a local Navy veteran who took interest in this turnout and wanted to promote his church-based organization, Point Man Ministries, to help veterans in need of emotional and spiritual assistance, especially those suffering from PTSD. After his death in 2004, due to cancer, others in his organization took it upon themselves to finish his dream in building this memorial to all military veterans.

The memorial consists of three flag poles flying the U.S., POW/MIA, and Oregon State flags. On either side of the flag poles are five granite pedestals bearing significant quotes. The pedestals are surrounded by brick pavers bearing the names of veterans and supporters.
